Laser Engraving
Laser engraving – also known as laser etching laser marking or laser printing – is the process of using lasers to engrave or mark an object. The technique does not involve the use of inks, nor does it involve tool bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out. These properties distinguish laser engraving from alternative engraving or marking technologies where inks or bit heads have to be replaced regularly.
Most bare metals can be laser marked with the use of marking compounds mild steel brass stainless steel . Anodised aluminium can be directly marked with a laser and the high contrast image produced is ideal for serial tags, identification plates and two-dimensional bar codes. Laser marking on metal delivers highly durable marks without sacrificing material integrity.
